Manisha Joshi is a poet and writer, born in Kutch, Gujarat in 1971. She earned her M.A. from M.S. University of Baroda in 1995 and worked as a print and television journalist in Mumbai and London. She now lives in California, U.S.A.

She has published four collections of poems in Gujarati and has presented poems at various literary platforms in India and abroad. Her first collection of poems, Kandara, was published by Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, Ahmedabad in 1996. Second collection, Kansara Bazar, was published by Image Publications, Mumbai in 2001 and the third collection, Kandmool, was also published by Image Publications, Mumbai in 2013. Her fourth collection, Thaak, is published by R. R. Sheth & Co. Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad in 2020. A collection of her selected poems from the first three poetry collections was also published in 2020 by Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar.

She has received Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’s first prize for her poetry collection Kandmool for the year 2013. Gujarati Literary Academy of North America has presented her with the Shri Ramesh Parekh Award for 2018 for her contribution in poetry.

Her poems have been selected for various poetry anthologies including “Breath Becoming a Word” published by Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, “Beyond the Beaten Track: Offbeat Poems from Gujarat” published by Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, “Just Between Us'' and “Interior Decoration” published by Women Unlimited and Women’s World (India).

Her work has appeared in reputed literary journals including The Wolf, Indian Literature, Chandrabhaga, New Quest, Sadaneera, Poetic Prism, Parab, Navneet Samarpan, Tathapi, Sahcharya Varshiki, Etad, Samipe, Vahi and Sandhi.
